BSD is one of the first Unices (probably second only to AT&T UNIX), so both would be correct, although "LSD and BSD" might make for a punchier joke :)

Interestingly, visual programming and tree-editing has actually gained a lot of traction with non-programmers. Tons of the big video and audio production suites (off the top of my head: Houdini, Max MSP, Grasshopper, Nuke, Blender's no

C will definitely be around in 30 years, and the source of SQLite is a single C file; if you want to be really careful, just store both the C source and your data?

CUDA C++ is technically its own language, which is mostly implemented using a preprocessor; nvcc performs some translation and then passes generated C++ to your compiler of choice. The kernel launch syntax, along with a few implicit include

You could use a tombstone record instead of deleting outright, and the batch update could skip copies that have corresponding tombstones.

Looks like you can't index based on JSON in SQLite, so they might be optimizing for different metrics?

Usually, organizations sell these lists to anyone who pays for them. It's not the ACLU's fault that left-leaning organizations perceived that list as valuable while right-leaning organizations didn't; my guess would be that r

Oh, you mean PCB milling! Well never mind then; those three are all for metal and plastic milling. I worked at Plethora for a bit, I forget that "milling" means different things to different people.

If you're looking for milling in the sub-1k range, you should check out Fictiv, Protolabs and/or Plethora. (I hope this doesn't count as thread hijacking! Just trying to help.)

Realistically, how would Google sync texts between devices without sending your texts to Google? And once you're doing that, why not use Hangouts, which does, in fact, do pretty good cross-device sync? I ask as a fellow Google-avoider;

This looks a lot like Lua's FFI interface[0], which is a compliment (but contradicts the statement that this sort of FFI is "the feature that no other engine implemented so far"). Nicely done. [0] http://csl.sublev
