Only tangentially related, but this thread seems like a good way to contact the team: the "engineering" and "operations engineering" job description links are 404s on this page: http://darklang.com/team&#

That could be because the car is usually right when it thinks it's in danger; this crash happened because it incorrectly thought it was safe. Having an assistive device that emergency-brakes or steers around obstacles is great as long

I think the part of the memo that is so surprising to me is the company-wide acknowledgement of the bad practices we all talk about; I'm amazed that an executive would send out such a frank description of the misleading "dark patt

Yup, I worked on a hardware project at Google that eventually became Android TV, and when we sent out hardware units they were hand-delivered by Google employees in GPS-tracked, locked Pelican cases. Upon receipt, devs had to keep it in a s

Something like this 50Ah battery pack? https://www.amazon.com/Laptops-External-50000mAh-Portable-No... Google around for external laptop batteries, they make some really big ones.

You do not have to offer the source code using the source code or through the service it provides. If you just throw it up on GitHub or whatever it still counts.

It's the domain they use when an engineering team doesn't make the website; this was probably made by a marketing team, so it doesn't go on google.com.

Isogeometric analysis is a means of doing finite element analysis over boundary representation models; FEA is used to physically simulate materials, and usually requires a polyhedral mesh (a mesh where the elements are 3D, instead of the &q

(I do geometry but I'm not in the gaming field) I'd guess that this is because the fastest way to compute a precise silhouette of an arbitrary shape (like quadratic surfaces) is to do a ray test for every pixel that might hit the

I can't read the paper you link but in the abstract-ish thing you've given here, $20 is a mean. The MIT paper says $3.37 is a median. Both could simultaneously be true!

Bazel recompiles at the source file level, and it's very good at only recompiling only what's necessary; for example, it caches object files for C++, and will only rebuild the object files of changed source files, and then relink
