I said this before and I'll say it again. Any benchmark that doesn't state why one candidate is faster than the other is not a benchmark. It's bullshit marketing material. A benchmark that doesn't state what one candidate bottlenecks on and

This is very similar to what I ended up doing. I bought a server, and hosted it at he.net.

Again with these silly benchmarks. Let's just throw numbers out there and see what people can make from them. Obviously whoever ran this benchmarks doesn't know what the real bottleneck is here. Hint: It's not the CPU. 6k req/sec is nothing

I was expecting they went the extra mile and implemented aio in node. Nothing is out of the ordinary here.

You'd think. Write a web server in C and a web server in python/erlang/go/node.js. You'll notice that the one written in C (or C++) runs twice as fast. If it was a syscall bottleneck then they'd achieve the same performance. zero-copy reque

Poller is a very important factor but there are other things to consider as well depending on how fast you want to go. But sometimes 'fastest' is not what you should look at though. Solutions like node.js, python, etc.. copy strings and buf

When benchmarking language performance results, it's a good practice to explain why is one language faster than the other. In other words, profile and figure out the bottleneck. If you don't know why, then it's better not to post them until

Nitpicks: Some phrases end with a period and some don't: Spend less time to find information Archive and return back later. The post title (blue-ish) on the right side is eating too much space for no good reason. And it seems that the keywo

Facebook is sitting on tons of cash. If they cannot attract talented designers then they are in trouble. Design is very important IMO. You think the majority of fb users will say 'oh look at those nice features'? I bet you not, they'll say

Most of FB's products look cheap, and ad-oriented made for naive users. There is a lack of design, and perfectionism. Compare the FB page with http://www.apple.com/iphone/from-the-app-store/

The challenge in chat is really scalability. I see no mention about this. How will it scale on 10 servers? The UI is well executed.
