Why many programmers have a tendency to generate performance numbers and extrapolate conclusions without understanding the bottlenecks? on the other hand: combining the first 2 ifs into if (n <= 2) { if (n < 2) return 0; else return 1

CPU is the last thing you'll bottleneck on in a CDN. You can saturate network IO with a 20% CPU.

Actually this is not a good test. Synthetic monitors live in data centers and you are testing the performance from one data center to another. You need RUM.

don't throw solutions with confidence like they are silver bullets. spiped is unmaintained, doesn't support revocation, not easy to debug in a big infrastructure, and will require a lot more work compared to https + client cert au

Just because you haven't come across client cert validation requirement, it doesn't mean it's wrong. If you have a bunch of micro services that need to communicate with each other securely, client cert validation solves a big

Just want to say thanks for creating an awesome suite of products that integrates nicely and seamlessly together. Re: stash. It's by far the best code review product I've used. And I've tried plenty!

it's not clear what your objective is. I can have 1kb text file and end up with a 1TB file after "analyzing" if I don't have a goal in mind.

When it comes to web frameworks, the things you should look at before performance are: community support, how active the project is, what does the framework provide me free out of the box, # of bugs, etc... You'll not bottleneck on the

stackless are regular coroutines except that there's 1 stack in the scheduler and when a coroutine yields, the current stack state is saved into the coroutine's structure to be restored later. The disadvantage is that you'll

I wish they revamp their existing web dashboard because it's poorly done. Features I'd expect from the dashboard at the very least: 1. Number of new customers per interval. 2. Subscription renewals per month. 3. Total income per m

If you take such assumptions when writing production software, good luck. You need to program based on what the man page says and it's clear even in linux that it can still return a NULL when overcommit is turned off.

What will the reader do while polling? If they will spin/poll, that will consume CPU resource unnecessarily. If the reader does it frequently the OS will preempt the process and pay the price. Typically, it takes around 50ns to 80ns to
