Man I would love to self host this for a small project, but looking at the self hosting option, there's more containers there than my whole application.

Easy to recover your Signal account using the phone number. Not saying it's easy to recover a phone number.

There's a difference between user content, which could include injection attacks. And what might be called operator content (operator of the browser in this case, which could also be considered a user), sure I want to be protected agai

I don't think it is really, it must result in a single value, like an aggregate, at least that's what I understood from reading it.

Yeah that's like saying Smartphones will fail because Microsoft failed at it, when Apple clearly didn't.

Honeycomb is an open telemetry tool that has a complicated search UI. They also have a text box you can use to have it query your data for you, it basically just drives the filtering and group by UI. It's really cool because it just ma

Yes I have, it was a nightmare. The biggest scaling issue was that on a server you must open a new db connection for each request. There's also little benefit because you still need to track application user data, so you still need a u

Good question, if I were to do it I'd just import into an in memory SQLite db and let you query that

I agree with the sentiment. But if anyone has ever contributed now you're in a bad place because you are making money off their work which they probably didn't consent to.

I actually think it's pretty similar to different automated testing camps. Some people say they build faster with TDD, and others say it slows them down.

Really exciting, I was interested in Dolt but I prefer postgres. I'm curious if you have any plans for local first development. I love the idea of a version controlled database, but I want to use it for local first and distributed data

From what I understand it's less about Schema history or migrations, then it is about data history. So if your data was stored in a VCS but it was also a Db. So you could query the database as it was last Thursday, just like you might

To be fair it depends on the audience. As a dev I don't want to wade through a git tutorial for any project I look at, I already know how to use git. But if your audience isn't other software devs then yeah you should probably sta

Yeah no one would make apps for 3rd place, Android already has the problem of being the 2nd target for many new apps. It's worth it for services but a lot of times the Apple app is better because users pay more.
