The video looks really cool, even if it just shows how fast the bloodflow in the brain moves about. I didn't realise it was that quick before, so that was interesting. But their technology paragraph makes no sense: "Unity takes a

Same with the Android store, just a few categories and a search box to lookup by name. I don't even look at the categories as again it's just trash, for example based off my recent activity I'm recommended 'Bethesdas Pin

Thanks for the links, hadn't even heard of distilling but the papers on that site are a lot more approachable for sure. Thanks for the other insights too, I will keep them in mind for the next paper I read.

Super stuff. Can anyone here who reads these research papers tell me their process to understanding them? Does anyone try to recreate the models using the math from the papers? I'm interested in this stuff at a hobby level, but find my

You would think OP would know that, but the original comment basically tells us all to measure our weight simply to check for CHF. If it were that simple we'd all do it I presume, but of course weight change can be a range of things. M

What an ironic comment - I tell a software developer that medical science isn't as easy as measuring weight changes, supporting the point that doctors need to do a lot more than that to come to a diagnosis, and then a doctor (I assume)

They can tell you something is different, or out of the normal range, they don't give you the real cause of the problem though. This is left to the doctor who will take into account age, gender, medical history, as well as the fuzzy de

The monitoring devices are the real problem, not the people. Do you think all weight spikes simply equate to having CHF? You can't just rely on such a basic measurement when dealing with an incredibly complex system such as the human b

This article is pretty devoid of content, and really only mentions that the Apple watch can be used as a constant heart monitor. Big deal, you aren't going to get much information from measuring just your heart beat and knowing next to

The evolution is fairly simple: python is very easy to setup, especially with django for working on the web, and for writing scripts quickly it work really well when everything is just an 'import' away. Then as the product gets bi

The link to Snorkel [1] is really interesting, labeling data in a low quality programmatic way, which is then fed through a neural network to produce high quality labels is really smart. [1] https://github.com/HazyResearch&#

Whist I agree with this approach, sometimes it just isn't possible if the code was written in a non-testable way to begin with. Such as code that hits the database a lot or relies on network data. In this case, weighing up the ROI is a

What? They do explain their results, and as you can see from the references section of any paper, other researchers read the published research and then build their new models using that information and continually refining the process.
