However, they still sue everyone they possibly can in order to still lock down their market. For a few years now, the barrier for hasn't been the patents but for the cost of standing up to them in court.

I've found that it chews through memory and drags down the whole browser, even when I'm not actively using it.

Solution: Use an IDE plugin for vi-style bindings. Dudes on assembly lines use screwdrivers.

1. China isn't a communist state anymore. Hasnt been for decades, regardless of any propaganda or rhetoric. It is an authoritarian state run by a single party that happens to be named Communist. 2. China does not get a free pass in the eye

I love git. It helps me to wake up in the morning some days. But... The OP's attempt to visualize git concepts falls quite short. This same old branching graph does little to nothing to illustrate these concepts. I cannot tell you how many

This doesn't deserve downvotes. Its a legitimate, and smart, way of approaching vi for a lot of reasons. In my opinion, it should be <10 lines I'll agree with you though I like to have at least a few in there like autoindent, various ta

Take HN commenters' infosec analysis with a large grain of salt. Their assumption is that everyone is a script kiddie, especially Anonymous. Even if there is a call for a DDOS, infiltration and gained access could likely precede or follow a

As much as I want to like it, I don't even try to read people's profiles anymore. If Facebook wanted me to pay 100% attention to the Status feed, they've succeeded. And by Status feed, I don't mean whatever that thing on the right frame is.

The article you cite is from October, which I assume means it compares the 4S to Android 3.x. Judging by the screenshots, its also on a non-Nexus phone, for what its worth. The voice command functions and interface were completely overhaule

You are correct about the parts being available in QBP and such. I was working in an LBS at the time. I suppose the timetable of 'boom' I'm talking about falls in when the generic sealed-bearing Velocity hubs started to show up on the scene

Chicago has been a main hub of the fixie/track scene for years, way before the big fixie boom.

Fixies have always been a fun subject of armchair economics. As late as '06, it was very rare that you'd come across track bike-specific parts. This was especially so with frames. Finding an old track hub in a used parts bin was practically

Yeah, I was worried about that. Such a shame; Apple's the only one losing out on the opportunity. Codea rocks, but I'd like to see a more useful editor. Even without a real compiler or debugger.

Its hard for me to imagine they'd want to do that at all. The average non-techie only knows about Google because it means "internet search engine." Any complication of this will only bring confusion. You have to wonder how Bing will respond

I guess we must agree to disagree that its only a side effect in the beginning. My clinicians experience and mine (personal and experiences I've heard in Group Therapy) differ, though I'm happily on another anti-depressant that works for me

Has anyone here had any experience hiring or working with grads of Finnish schools? How about Master's/PhD level grads? I'm curious how an employer or co-worker would view the quality of their school's end product.
