The notion that some 'good,' 'quality,' or 'talented' programmer is somehow entirely autonomous is entirely a fallacy. I'd trust a team of 'mediocre' programmers that follow process and get it done than place blind trust in a couple cowboys

The Mac App Store has been a huge boon to Mac software developers It has? Whenever I look, I tend to see trivial little apps of the same depth and quality as your typical iOS App Store app. Feels like a ghetto to me.

Though can you opt to take these classes? That's the whole point, using the opportunity to broaden your own horizons and do what YOU want. If all you want to do is follow the script or syllabus, then yes, skip college.

I have some serious doubts about the validity of this claim. While the its possible in proofs of concept, I reserve judgement until they can prove it in a court of law.

In short, Anonymous targets and humiliates authoritarians and those who service them. This is at the core of my morality. Their hacks illustrate the glaring weaknesses of our technology and that the incompetence in infosec so often spawns f

If they were involved an operation to export thousands of guns to Mexican drug gangs[1], surely killing hundreds in the process, then yes. If they knew, they probably wouldn't intervene. Even still, few (any?) Lulzsec attacks actually leake

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. How soon until the second layer of meta-startups come along? Sounds like a business opportunity! Who wants to be my co-founder at a startup that helps startups that help startups?

Why add another layer of fees? What utility does this provide? Why must you install, register, and have to open an app for each purchase when you can just use existing, bulletproof tech?

I don't understand where this sysadmin is coming from. From a practical perspective, what's the point to drive the wedge between DevOps and 'traditional' sysadmin work. He's just critiquing the work of fellow administrators. They are BOTH s

One has to wonder what types or levels of depression this claims to validate. Depression can be caused by a lot more than simply down times or highly impactful life events. The brain and mind are so unbelievably mutable and plastic that I c

There is a lot more to the science of depression than simply being down for a bit. Thats part of the cycle of everyone's life, at some point. Everyone self medicates. Depression is so often a side-effect of other, real, mental disorders. Th

I'm really curious what Bump brings to the table, at all, let alone what makes them worth the same breath as the rest of these companies. It feels more like a trivial app put together on a hack weekend or Man Month than actual innovation.
