This article feels like it was written by a friend of someone who is named as let go. Google let a lot of good people go last week. Some more and some less deserving than those in the OSPO. Google has never had a particularly coherent open

I was talking purely about “benefits” by which most people mean things outside of standard monetary compensation. EU workers have much better vacation, healthcare, parental leave, severance pay, etc than US workers on average.

Interesting! Is this because the exchange rate (currently 1.23 GBP:USD but has been lower recently) is fluctuating in the same range as the VAT rate (20%)?

Yes. I feel that the tech media has done a terrible disservice by recommending the 8GB Apple M1 laptops. I am not sure what it is about that architecture but they are completely unusable under load in a way that's not true of my 2015 i

It was great. £50/month and I used 1TB of data with no throttling. Two people working from home full time. Only occasionally slow. Not great latency though.

Some color about buying home internet in London vs San Francisco (in my experience). I recently moved back from London to San Francisco. In my 3 years in central London (N1) I had to use a 5g hotspot (thank you, Vodafone unlimited) to get a

Whoah the Madison voice sounds _exactly_ like Julia Whelan, who is a real audiobook narrator. I have listened to many articles on Audm (narrated news articles) using her voice. I wonder if she had a part in this?

Surprised this isn’t a slam dunk. One of the main reasons Binance is popular is because in the 2017 crypto run up they made it easier than anyone else to get an account and start trading. It seemed obvious at the time they couldn’t be compl

If you like Herzog’s narrative style in movies you’ll enjoy the book. It’s a very quick read, maybe 3 hours. In some bits I could practically hear him in my head, like this: “The night is long. The crickets, not caring about war or peace, o
