Older folks with declining cognitive abilities are especially targeted. I have a friend whose grandmother had severe dementia and sent 400k to scammers via wire transfer. I have nightmares about my father, who has shown a tendency to put cr

Normally, the lake is a bit sparse from what I read. suckerfish and arctic char mostly. Maybe some other introduced salmonids, eels. One article suggests sturgeon. However, the migratory salmon and salmonids probably are there once or tw

I get the same from AT&T, when I am already an AT&T customer. I get the same sense, that it's just referrals they are after. Sometimes I get calls from purported cable ISP's claiming there's a software update needed,

See above comment. Minimum is company name, and more details about the company is helpful. Complaint form is here: https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/requests/new?tic...

You usually have to trick them into it, by pretending to be interested in buying what they are selling. The minimum you need is the company name they are calling from. The auto insurance places often will hang up when you ask that question

I baited some scammers like this once. Nigerian prince type scam. I led them on a merry chase for 6 weeks back in 2009. I managed to get them fighting amongst themselves, the whole group sending me angry emails, and eventually even got th

I definitely do this, and have thought about why. Sometimes it is "me time" as TFA suggests. Sometimes after a busy day, I need to unwind a bit before sleep, because I am still kind of amped up from the hustle and bustle.

Exactly. Immigration grows the economy. Period. The economy is made up of people. People make up the labor supply curve, and people make up the product and services demand curve.

I find the problems with Microsoft docs is less how convoluted they are (you kind of get used to the convention at some point - not to say it's good or sensical), it's the fact that Azure documentation is not of the same quality t

I had a colleague using an adblocker. The adblocker publisher went rogue, and he started getting porn popups. I don't know if they got hacked, or if that was the plan all along.

OMI may listen on the network (depending on what Azure feature is configuring it), but you will find that the most common azure feature pushing OMI does not configure it to listen on the network, which is Log Analytics.

You may have just borked your VM's. OMI installed because it is needed for certain feature integrations (most notably Log Analytics/Azure Monitor). It's worth mentioning many of these features which deploy OMI do so in a way

Win32 and .Net docs are great! Azure and Powershell docs leave a lot to be desired. A lot of the time parameters are vaguely documented, return values completely undocumented. You have to inspect the object returned by a lot of things to

I have thought about this some. I do prefer having local copies of everything, because I don't trust The Cloud. Malicious actors can get your account shut down, and then all your stuff is gone, locked up and the key thrown away. My so

It is unlikely. But that can actually happen. A catastrophic failure of the head unit can impact the electrical system which can do weird things with the spark plugs or other systems.
