You can actually make a safe C implementation without creating a whole new language, see my other post https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27969373

This is false. There are multiple safe C implementations. compcert and https://staff.aist.go.jp/y.oiwa/FailSafeC/index-en.html are two such.

You might not need to trust government institutions in order to be convinced that vaccines in general are effective, you do however need to trust them in order to verify that a specific vaccine is effective and safe. Especially for new vacc

Are you trying to subtly accuse chithanh of something? If so I would request that you do it explicitly instead of in a passive-agressive way. Regardless, their post contained only factual statements relevant to the discussion. I noticed no

Metadata is leaked only to your server and to the server of the person that receives the email, just like signal. The only difference is that with email you get a maximum of 2 servers while with signal you get one. > I trust Signal more

> Delta chat leaks metadata to email providers, and PGP has no forward secrecy or deniability. Signal leaks metadata to the signal server. Deniability is useless. Forward secrecy is cool as long as you are not using more than one device.

"Weaker E2EE" as in "PFS is not commonly used with email". As for the metadata, no metadata is leaked that signal does not also leak.

The US government forbidding a citizen from giving a talk sounds quite totalitarian to me. Looks like the constitution of the US is not worth any more than the paper that it is written on.

They are indeed not the same. After all NK does not regularly drone-strike civilians in the middle east.

I can certainly say that it is a "degenerate regime that has killed millions". As for your new question, I would argue that yes, this fits the US.

You missed the point. "__CLASSIC_C__" is not a thing (why they don't use __STDC__? I don't know, they don't seem to know either) and the syntax that they use inside that ifdef is.. not what people mean by classic C.

I did not know about rev, thanks. Though, since there is no way to specify a signature you are forced to use potentially outdated packages.

I think I had the best experience with Meson/Ninja so far. I am also interested in using Nix for building. As for Cargo, I did not like how it recompiled all dependencies when I changed a warning flag on my project. I also found it unu
