It varies hugely depending on the axis of acceleration, so given the manoeuvres in the video I opted for the lower end of the spectrum, which is probably a more realistic estimate than 20Gs.

Seems you're right, though I think it would depend on the rigidity of the rotor with respect to the body of the helicopter.

Agreed, though the one leg analogy would more accurately be hanging from one arm, since the lift is provided from above.

A cursory glance around the internet suggests that these things are capable of 20G manoeuvres (!), far in excess of the human maximum of 5-10G (depending on axis of acceleration). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G-force#Hu

Agreed. As another example, Singapore has such problems with birth rate that they need to have huge immigration just to maintain a stable population. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singapore#Demographics

As a non-USA HN'er, I'm not sure I agree with this as a perfect example of the case against a national health insurance system. I'm not sure any democratic country with a population of over 300 million people could smoothly i

Actually, with iOS7s new activation lock feature, thefts are limited by passwords.

Thanks for the feedback! We did suspect that we weren't making it obvious enough that we were Perth only for now, so it's good to get some confirmation. We have gone back and forth on the money issue so many times, and can't

I'm guessing you lived in Perth at some stage? These things live pretty exclusively on Rottnest Island: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quokka

You can't deny that the wording is far more convoluted and vague, despite the precise legal implications.

I will never understand the inherent distrust America seems to have in their government. Every time a document like this is released, the logic is to assume that the document applies to all Verizon customers (which it does not), then to ass

As someone who lives in Perth, I can concur with the ridiculous cost of living here at the moment, and am also surprised that this seems to have been developed at least partly here. However, the meetup/tech/startup scene is developing here

It's definitely a spell check bug, I've got that feature turned off (always hated it) and none of this is doing anything for me.

Having said this, 30% of $108 is only $32.40, which still doesn't reach the price of another dyno.

Regardless of his slight misunderstanding of the technical side of things, he is correct when he says that you can be paying over $100 a month for a service and still be subject to dyno idling, which does seem pretty ridiculous, especially

Yep this is blocked under "Pay-to-Surf" at the company where I work. Not sure what security provider they use, but this isn't looking good for a YC backed startup...
