I have already lost hope for Apple. I'm just hoping they don't make things worse and just keep the quality as is but this seems optimistic too. Maybe in 5 years, Linux gets bit better when Mac is finally crap as a whole.

Umm, no... The OS can detect the free space to decide whether it's a go or not and it still borked.

Back then, upgrading meant something for the users, like QuickLook, TimeMachine or for the first time in life I saw a new OS actually take less disk space and was released primarily as optimization of the previous release as in Snow Leopard

Someone needs to end the Photoshop monopoly. It's annoying I can't switch to alternatives or think about using Linux.

Is IPSec VPN a IKEv2 on either LibreSwan or StrongSwan connected to FreeRadius for authentication? What are the clients you connect from? Is it stable?

Just an advice but I suggest you host publicly facing services and privately hosted services on different instances. You don't want less tested web app to expose some security hole for someone to start snooping on your traffic toward B

Seems stable and small footprint for me too. Kudos to the porter. It felt like a hidden cost to run the official server as I had to upgrade my server instance for an extra $5/mo.

You're wrong on multiple points in a single line. Green line is Yamanote line and neither Yamanote nor Chuo line are that late unless some serious accidents occur. If you mean by, 1-3m then, I guess you're within a reasonable clai

For MySQL, run the command with --safe-updates to avoid queries running without WHERE clause.

Absolutely no to videos. Can't easily tell what's where when I want to jump to a certain section, no result from web search for the contents and can't even copy paste any examples. It's like keep watching TV for news to

It's more like, would someone else be able to maintain the code I write with language X? And would the person trying to run it be able to run in their environment without fiddling with SSH access? If it's just me writing and deplo

I'd say, use MySQL 8 unless you have a particular reason not to. You get more resource online when you search around and toolings are better and those are as important as features to many and I doubt MySQL 8 lacks much for most people&

It may have a good doc but searchability on the internet is still miles behind MySQL and that actually counts more on daily search for answers. Also I sometimes don't know if I should search with psql or pgsql or postgres or postgresql

I don't see there's a reason to use vim locally as other editors are far advanced when vim isn't changing at all. But there's a use on the server side because you only have vim or emacs there.

For server side config file editing. There are plenty of editors to choose from for local GUI environment but not so inside SSH session.

I treat emacs as the only alternative to vim on the server. On your own GUI machine there are plenty of alternatives. Do people recommend the use of emacs over vim on servers? (Mainly editing server config files and reading long logs) Any g

The posix decision is quite dumb. You can't possibly read scripts well with bunch of single letter options. Codes are supposed to be readable.

It's sad when I found out FreeBSD lacks many of the long options I thought was quite obvious. mkdir --parents doesn't work in FreeBSD.
