Is WSL that complete? There could be tons of edge cases where stock Linux binaries could behave slightly differently and could be a support nightmare.

If 2 of the biggest Linux distributors get owned by giants with their intention of trying to save themselves than save the market is going to be a bad ride. What other commercially supported option do we have for those concerned?

And not everyone is 100% focused to be a designer and again not everyone works at the highest average salary region. And even without those points, Adobe's pricing is just off from other professional tools.

I guess it's time for modern alternatives. Adobe is getting dragged down by its own legacy code which would be a dead end like Windows or IE.

Their pricing is way too high as developer tools just because they have near monopoly. Top of the line programming tools like Jetbrains give you their entire list of about 10 apps for $12 or so a month from 3rd year (Starting from about $20

Now we need to train UNIX admins how to do it without bash. SSH alone doesn't seem any good without all the UNIX tools.

Only if they try to open source visual studio (not the code) which is choking themselves by putting a barrier to entry for their own platform with not so cheap pricing model.

I just can't get over the verbosity of PowerShell. With all the "do 1 thing well" utilities glued by bash, it just feels real effective.

GUI is something you can't easily copy and paste which is s real killer. And with options spread all over with 3 level depth of more "options" is getting old quick.

I use IntelliJ on all languages I use on Mac but VSCode's font rendering is more natural and better. There's something weird about Java's rendering implementation for not being crisp. And VSCode doesn't take 30s to launc
