It's easy to "forget" if it's just a tab in a browser even if you bookmark it and gets buried in other 100s. And also easy to close and lose any notifications than running in dock or menu tray.

Used it since 10.04 against over 100 servers and I agree it worked really well. 95% of the time it had packages I need and the rest of 5% only meant stuff I wanted to use was too new to go into packages of the LTS at that time. Unless you n

It's not about hyping. Just a general "About" page of where it's located, who's behind and a photo of CEO with added bonus if there's a photo of their office. It's a very security oriented product. Not sho

I haven't played but is this what you get after 8 years with $200m? If the $200m came from a studio's budget, the guy is fired 5 years ago.

JavaScript has been stuck with an ancient version because of browser adoption like IE6. There's a good reason people wanted to migrate to newer JS and I never heard people say ES6 got something wrong over ES5.

My experience using nvm has been quite annoying. What you could do with simple npm command now doesn't work unless you give additional command lines when it comes to cron and other non interactive environments like process monitoring t

Except there isn't much info on who 8 bit solutions is. It seems like a 1 man effort and apparently he doesn't want to reveal much. A few requests aren't exactly answered. https://github.com/bitwarden/web

Enpass is not sexy but got things right. But do note that backing up on cloud means, 1 password combination and you'll let your encrypted files infinite local crack attempt.

They know the edge cases and gotchas on that version by now but until they test the ZoL version on wide variety of FreeBSD deployments, it could mean they're back to labelling it a beta version at this point.

> prevent Linux from using ZFS now that Sun is gone. Considering btrfs isn't really going anywhere why would they not rather take the effort to relicense zfs than put any effort on btrfs if they have no bad intention with zfs? Fixin

I mean, there's unlikely to be any official support of zfs on Mac and the fact Apple developed apfs recently could mean there's less appetite for community to port and support zfs on Mac.

Isn't FreeBSD suddenly getting a version of zfs with features and bits of code that is developed against Linux? Sounds like edge cases for performance and stability could show up?

Or they just figured they wanted a file system that also works on mobile devices (apfs even works on watchOS) with limited memory.

Considering they've been using it from 2011 or something, there can't be any good reason but a dumb choice by tech team or management bought Mongo's sales talk without good verification.
