Maybe they needed the staff to build the software back then and now they could be leaner cos the product is already built. Maintaining is much easier than building.

I don't understand. If they are all Google search results then why use an unofficial service rather than using the official Google Custom Search JSON API or the Google Search API from the Google Cloud Platform?

The indeterminant feature of AI means that data may not be accurately parsed all the time. Users often have to spend a lot of time double checking the output. Did you have some kind of checks in place?

ChatGPT also hallucinates a lot. Many links generated by it don’t work
