Things have improved quite a bit recently. Daniel Solano Gomez is the pioneer here, and Alex Yakushev made it a lot simpler by creating the lein-droid plugin for leiningen last summer. It will impose a few seconds of load time no matter wha

Do you think backroom meth labs and street-level prostitution would exist if professionalized alternatives were available? How many people have died from tainted homemade liquor purchased in speakaeasies since that type of prohibition ended

If you read Reason (to steal a line from you), you know that laws prohibiting narcotics and prostitution are unethical and cause both activities to be more dangerous by forcing them underground. It is beyond the power of U.S. attorneys to l

Cops will often pursue petty things in hopes of discovering something more serious to charge you with. By impounding your car, they are clear to search it without your consent. This happened to me a few years ago in Maryland. As a new resid

There also seems to be a dramatic spike in interest in "2nd amendment" http://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=2nd%20amendment&c... And "gun rights" http://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=gun%20rights&cmpt...

Not a good assumption. The reports of huge increases in gun purchases suggests many are worried about future legislation. People in your area may support it, but in other areas (like mine) they may be less apt to trade liberty for security.

You're right, there is nothing important we can learn from centuries of art -- they don't reflect "real life", where the aforementioned love stories always end with a woman screaming and being torn into. Keep your propeller hat on and your

What a comical overreaction. The history of cinema and literature is replete with love story cliches just like that -- a boy being rejected by a girl and eventually winning her over with perseverance and charm. Of course, the over-correctin

Interesting work. My own JS stego tool uses a similar technique, though I implemented encryption and message scattering as well: http://oakes.github.com/PixelJihad/

I've been a paying customer for a month or two. Seems like a very nice update, however it broke git for me. $ git commit -m "Small fixes." error: pathspec 'fixes.' did not match any file(s) known to git.

Good point regarding text-based steganography. I've had a greater interest in hiding within binary files, though, because they tend to be larger and have highly varied contents. Also, it's very common to share images over email and other me

I haven't done much steganalysis so don't know what difference it will make for an attacker searching over large numbers of images, but it's at least useful if you're more worried of attackers who already suspect there is a hidden message.

Really exciting stuff. I kind of missed TrueCrypt when I switched to FreeBSD, because I had a lot of things saved to a TC volume on my network drive. I eventually figured out how to mimic TC volumes using FreeBSD's native geli encryption to
