I suppose this is an evergreen topic for new C programmers. I find it surprising that HN is posting something that's basically a verbatim quote from K&R which was first published in 1978. a 33 year-old C hack ain't news. Than again, I g

A completely misleading headline. The body of the story is basically that the enterprise-oriented business that drives Idee's revenue is unaffected by Google's new feature launch. Nice try at manufacturing drama, Financial Post.

I used to have the C operator precedence table memorized as I taught C classes weekly. But I never use it these days. Your know it/use it options are conflated.

Montreal would probably be on par with Vancouver and Calgary, but I'd guess it's still behind Waterloo and Toronto. I think the VC landscape is actually quite good in Quebec since there's a lot of government money to stimulate investment in

Like Canada you can tweak the amount of deductions on your paystub but you'll owe the same amount in the end. You'll file both US and Canadian taxes for 2011 which is slightly complex but you won't get double-taxes for the most part. You'll

Interesting work is done outside of main campus, absolutely, 100%. Not every office works on every product, but every office has some pretty major stuff going on.

Extra option: I never applied and was hired. Believe it or not we have recruiters out there sourcing candidates. I have personally interviewed people who were asked to apply by recruiters but who did not apply on their own.

By definition it won't affect PPC spenders at all unless someone clicks on the ad. You can only buy CPM ads on the AdSense network.

I'm shocked they felt it necessary to mention that it's not worth your time to grow your own wheat. That's possibly the most obvious gardening suggestion ever.

I read the book reviewed in the article "The Next Hundred Million: America in 2050." It's a horrible, pollyanna-ish book. It simply hand-waves away every possible problem. It talks about how fantastic the suburbs are and ignores how depende
