Been eyeing it for a while now gotta admit. The desktop setup I'm looking at would be pretty expensive with both that and a thunderbolt dock. So annoying I can't get a thunderbolt dock with SFP+ directly instead.

This would be so much nicer if it was SFP+, 10GBASE-T transceivers are too expensive still IMO.

I shutdown the credit card i was using. They're intentionally making it hard and I decided it was less work to update payment methods on everything else.

I use two types of notebooks. One where I don't care about structure or content. I just write whatever I'm thinking about as I think it when tackling hard or large problems. Kind of like an unstructured unspecific mind-map. I find

Not everyone is a power user. At this time I was in university and Linux went from a reasonable choice to an unreasonable due to sound not working again. If you care about real world usage, PA set us back years when Ubuntu made it default.

I'm grateful we got a reasonable system out of PA eventually but damn it took time and I agree it is today better than what we had with ALSA. But as I remember it audio sucked with ALSA until it didn't and then we had about two go

I don't know about (2). Alsa "just worked" when pulse audio was released and PA did not "just work" for like 8 years after the first release. Seems like software history revisionism to me.

For sure a friend of mine had a very old EPA, it would be about 70 years today if it still exists. It could not go faster than 50kph because the handling combined with imbalance in something almost shook it off the road while going "st

Has been impossible to buy new in my geography for 6 months already. I had my old one stolen in September and now doomed to the >6" life it seems.

That's where LISTEN comes in. It's very simple to write this loop perfectly correct.

I only read the abstract and it suggests a direction of causation that the experiment does not give. I'll read this in full when I have time but I would be very surprised if the causation is not completely reverse of what is suggested.

My understanding is that it's not as total as insulin deficiency and of course that the function is not as critical has caused it to go largely unnoticed.

I don't think the process was developed specifically for insulin production but rather arbitrary protein synthesis. And we just applied existing technology to insulin production. Anyway this was like mid 70s so there probably were no o

Yeah sadly that is what the marketing term means. Personally my bar would be fully automatic and insulin and glucagon at a a minimum.

Insulin from animals have not been used for human injections in like 4 decades. We use synthetic insulin-like proteins these days. And they are produced typically by modified e-coli. This product does not produce insulin, like other insulin

Louis Rossman has taught me to be welcoming of things like these but skeptical. Until this is in real consumers hands and reasonable rates and effort I will consider it a big maybe.

No, I lived in China, I got two know locals with wildly different opinions and reasons for thinking what they do. They idea that there is any non-controlled wide-spanning media where this could be discovered is I'm afraid laughable.
