I used to dislike the use of different punctuation characters as they make it "difficult" to re-arrange code. I've, however, grown to love them as they are very explicit and gives the reader a good indication on what will happen next (f. ex

Yes! Although the absence of line numbers forced you to think through (in some cases) related code as well as the code that generated the error :)

Would've been nice with a little more meat .. like convering all the steps performed when detecting the actual SMTP servers (including connection attempts, alternative lookups when no mx records exist etc).

Does it also prevent the browser from crashing if there's still something pending? :)

I prefer to put the worker queue on the server. It's not as snappy, but it's snappy enough. And queued up operations will not get lost if the browser is closed/crashes.

Setting up deployment routines early is a seriously great tip. It took me years to realize that, and to start doing it.

Well, code to restore the database from a backup for one. It also seems to track form which server backups were created. I haven't looked, but it might also, in the spirit of Django, be "database agnostic" and allow you to import data acros

It really is a challenge. Maybe you could create a small buffer of articles. The size of the buffer would depend on how often you're going to post, but enough to last you a week or two. Everything in the buffer should be ready to publish so

A lot of the things _I_ do in Photoshop could probably be done more efficiently in a CLI (read DSL) than a GUI (and enable me to create and manage reusable components in a better way - some kind of mixins for example). Now, a lot of what I

They are harder (than many other commonly used characters) to distinguish from regular text as well.

I don't have this problem as I just leave emails I'm not immediately taking action on in the inbox. But maybe an auto-responder is a better solution for those that have this problem. It could explain that you're busy and hint that the sende

What a coincidence: I wanted something like this and created a similar, albeit much simpler, plugin[1]. I've been trying to work around a bug (an event wasn't triggered when the completion menu is visible) for a long time and finally found

I found this really odd. Any idea what the reasoning behind the "slashdot" is? On a side: I like Haskell's take on lambda syntax (prefix with "\", e.g. \x y -> x + y).

I haven't used the built-in bookmarks feature for years. I checked just now, and I have 10 bookmarks stored (all of them used for quick searching in FF). I still use the concept though, I just offload them to Delicious where they can be pro

Don't give me so many options when you can, with a little research, make the right decisions for me! :) (the N % that do not agree with you can probably perform some magic to bend the site to their liking)

This is biting me as well - I use search in place of the address bar a lot. Now, in DDG, searches like "asoiaf reddit" does not find the root-site. I think I'm not alone in using the address bar less and less. While I'm at it: - I would pro

Another project I would like to be high priority is GIMP. Photoshop is the misruler and needs to be dethroned. It's a terrible piece of software that, more or less, forces people to use non-free operative systems. It has to be replaced and/

There are some negative comments about the logo (and I agree with some of the posters), so on a more positve note: it's just a logo, a lot of the other things you've done are pure awesome!
