"Small" things like adding proper support for background processes, a slightly beefier standard library and better ways to integrate plugins with the ui (a clean api instead of resorting to buffer-hacks etc) would go a long way without dest

Other reasons I prefer the CLI (most of the time): - awesome cross-platform window management (tmux, screen etc) - a commonly used standard: one programs output is another programs input - program availability (there are many programs that

Good stuff - very succinct. But... the basics of Erlang are very straightforward and tutorials are plentiful. There really should be more articles on the things that set Erlang apart (OTP design principles etc) written in the style of this

I write my notes in markdown and keep them in a git repository. A simple hook generates a collection of html documents that I host on my private server for reading while commuting.

I've found previous articles from the same source a bit thin. And I have a personal dislike of the author after reading the comments on another article on the site: http://uxmovement.com/navigation/designing-tab-navigation-th... I was hap

Pointless comment: 11px font size in the body of an article on typography? That must have been a conscious act.

I think the pentadactyl[1]/vimperator[2] ui is nice; I can see the URL of the page I'm currently browsing, but it claims minimal screen real-estate. [1]: http://dactyl.sourceforge.net/pentadactyl/ [2]: http://vimperator.org/vimperator

I love the straight quotes, but I'm experiencing increased vertical space between lines in the terminal as well. Seems like the author has the same "problem" judged by the screenshots posted.

This a cool project, albeit not my cup of tea. Sure, the terminals out there need a little work, but I'm skeptical about bringing too much of the "gui world" in. There are, however, some concepts that are worth copying and that are in fact

I did not read the entire list, but my favorite "trick": CMD + SHIFT + g ... in Finder (or an open-file-dialog) opens up a "Go to folder"-dialog in which you can tab-complete your way to the desired destination. It's not perfect, b
