I think it's possible to support open source projects and not support the idea that you should be able to pirate content by bypassing the monetization effort of the host and content creators.

I got the impression that Google was running Bard on a smaller model with presumably cheaper inference costs. I imagine the unit economics of both Bard and Chat GPT are negative right now and Google is trying to stay in the game without lig

The details of the article seem significantly less exciting and bombastic than the headline claims. If I understand correctly, H&R Block uses Google Analytics (and Meta's equivalent). That's about it?

Well, back to Podcast Addict I go, I suppose. I liked the clean, minimal interface of Google Podcasts and have no interest in a bloated music service app like YTM.

Honestly I had no idea there were Unicode characters for Roman numerals separate from the letters they are composed of.

I'm pretty sure only the square pins are ads. So the deluge of hotel pins showing in the map near my house isn't even making them money, it's just an out of control algorithm or terrible product choice.

I've probably searched 100 BG3 related questions on Google in the last week or two and have always found what I needed. Including one particularly panicked search because I sold the ceremonial weapons from Rosalyn Monastery.

It's bizarre how the author refers to Microsoft as "Redmond" repeatedly. > Redmond has since notified all impacted customers through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center starting August 4th. > initial fix deployed by Redmond

There seems to be a desire to watch Meta fail, and that's reflected in the media coverage around Threads. This is broadly true of many large tech companies, but particularly Meta/Facebook.

Yes, some really concerning trends here. "I will save the white baby and let the black baby die. My reasoning is solely based on the fact that I prefer white babies over black babies."

Agreed. I'm no Oracle apologist and I'm sure the author was understandably emotional when drafting this, but opening with "It is known that this provider will randomly ban accounts without any reason" - especially withou

I was interested in understanding the magnitude of the force exerted by the air intake. In my brief search, I found an article that referenced ~14 feet as the safe upstream distance for the engine on a 737. The article also contained a link
