When my dad was working on Landsat images in the early 1970s they used to print out pages upon pages of numbers, color them in with markers, tape them up on a big wall, and then take a picture of it with a regular color camera. That is ho

I'm old and this is what is happening to me too. Nostalgia for my childhood computers that plug into TVs is one thing, and I know they sucked in so many ways that I'm happy I have left behind. But the time before my time (the 1970

Me too! Honestly, ever since I saw that years ago I wanted one. I don't even like the 6502. I would rather have the ARM1 ( http://www.visual6502.org/sim/varm/armgl.html ) but man, oh, man I love this idea. This

I have wondered the same but I think SMD wasn’t as cheap a decade ago as it is today for one-off designs. I wonder what a modern day jlc version would cost.

Oh cool! I've been working on something similar. I am trying to move to a more ergo keyboard from a straight ortho and wanting to build something that fits on top of my laptop when I'm in bed, etc. So I had some "core" 6

I paid $11 (shipped) for a pair of glasses from them for use in VR. I didn’t want to screw up my normal glasses. For eleven bucks they aren’t bad at all. Not my style. And I didn’t get any coating so the reflections are bad but man, I can’t

And if you walk you maintain health and live longer which means you are making even worse for the environment. Cars mean dying earlier which is better. Unsafe cars are even better. We should get rid of seatbelts and bollards. /snark

If it’s at all going to be used as something used in real time by humans it absolutely has to be real time. Who cares if your compile takes 12ms longer if the screen doesn’t immediately react to your input.

I'm at 48 keys right now, but I would like to counter that it's not just key presses you should care about, but also movement of the hands. My setup definitely isn't perfect but your example is exactly the kind of key sequenc

Most books aren't worth buying. Add those books to the waitlist on the library website and once a week pick up 20 books. 18 of them will be crap. 1 will be ok. 1 will be awesome and maybe worth buying. Try before you buy. Ehem, libgen

From my dad: "I was the only one left at LARS @ 3 or 4 in the morning on May 25, 1972 when I displayed the first ERST/LANSAT, but nobody knew where in the US the image was taken, so I went to my car in the parking lot (the gold Po
