I don't know where you're from but I'm sure I could find weirdness there, just like everywhere. That said, this law is heavily criticized at the moment, for good reasons.

Having a single source of documentation and components perfectly integrated out of the box make a huge difference.

Yes, Django takes care of the complexity so the developer does not have to. Flask is bare bones, so the complexity is left to the developer. I have done similar applications and websites with both and I know which one I'm more producti

I wouldn't count Flask as simpler than Django. These 5 lines hello world examples are incredibly misleading.

Just tried it by replacing NGinX on my personal servers... I don't have anything complex (python backends, some static files...) but so far the user experience is stellar :)

Oh how I hated the fact that php.ini could change so much of the PHP behaviour... can't say I miss those days. Also, I don't know about now because I left this ecosystem long ago, but it was very common for apps to bundle their ow

Talk about a bummer... Golang makes it easy to make static binaries. Way too easy for the distro apparently. Deb files will be just fine.

Hell no... for reasons not on my part I have one of these. I won't list the problems but I'll just say this: I just want my 2015 Macbook back.

I'm a python user and parallelism and performance are not the reason I tried Golang because I had no poblem with these for my use cases. However, it solves the only problem I have with Python which is deployement/distribution: bas

Happened to me years ago with Flickr... all my pictures lost, including family. This is how you learn the hard way that the cloud is just someone else's computer.

I don't know, I don't need that. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one. I understand why you'd need it though.

Well, I can only sympathize then... Personaly I just stick with manual venv and pip. It's not hard to use, it works, it's standard. But of course I'm lucky enough to be the one making the decisions.

Don't use pipenv, you don't need it. Seriously. Edit: you don't need poetry either.

I initially followed the same path... then I just ditched completely PHP and its ecosystem and then never felt the need to write my own ORM/Router/libs again.

Tons of libs wouldn't work this way I guess, probably including stuff in the standard library. So you could really just use a subset of the Python ecosystem. I'm not sure it's worth the effort.

I love to work in python and I came here just to point out that it's pretty obvious one should not use it if raw performance is a concern (which is not in many situations). I remembered this Cal Henderson talk at Djangocon: https:
