I wouldn't count Flask as simpler than Django. These 5 lines hello world examples are incredibly misleading.
- eximius 6y agoDjango is an enormous project that dwarfs Flask in size and complexity.
- guggle 6y agoYes, Django takes care of the complexity so the developer does not have to. Flask is bare bones, so the complexity is left to the developer. I have done similar applications and websites with both and I know which one I'm more productive with. But of course YMMV and we are all lucky to have the choice.
- padthai 6y agoExactly. You end up cobbling together half a dozen plugins (auth, forms, orm, admin) and adding dependencies that, albeit useful, are complex themselves: Celery, SQLAlchemy, etc.
- guggle 6y agoHaving a single source of documentation and components perfectly integrated out of the box make a huge difference.
