Oh interesting. In sweden it's really hard to find a pub that has coca cola, they almost exclusively have pepsi. Also in the supermarket pepsi is cheaper.

github was a paid service only in the beginning. Which means few were using it.

It's basically the same as docker but it doesn't use proprietary cloud stuff such as dockerhub. Also occupies like 100kb instead of 40mb because it's C and not go.

If only firejail existed to do exactly that… it could come packaged in most distributions with sensible profiles that are easy to enable. It might even have a github project that people might reach, something like this https://gi

I want a struct, not to having to write the code manually to do a struct every single time. I know you can do that in go but as I already said: "more error prone than C".

I don't even need to open a go codebase to know what's happening. 60% is "if err != nil".

It's a language that is not very used by hobbyists or skilled developers, so the amount of things written on go outside of working hours isn't as big.

But most is not. Especially not the libraries that are so used. Some people in big projects are paid contributors, and some company open source some not so useful things as a marketing tool.

But go has plenty of footguns. For example the most common pattern is to just ignore errors.

Yes it works, but you can't state the endianness and you have no control to decide if the compiler will decide to insert padding. It's undefined. You HOPE it works.

A segfault is a security vulnerability :) I expect a modern programming language that has a runtime to not do that, correct.

From go programs at the very least I can expect they won't respect normal GNU getopt command line options, and work terribly with signals and going background in the terminal and so on. If it's a server, of course it won't su

I managed to make go segfault multiple times (a real actual segfault). It's not a general purpose language. If you want to do things that aren't json RPC is awful.

Go is very boilerplate. It requires at least 3 lines of error checking every 1 line of actual code. Also it doesn't have packed structs so it's completely incapable of doing low level networking or to handle binary files (you can
