For the same reason people want to automate their homes, or the industries run with lots of robots, etc: because it increases productivity. The repair shop could be monitoring for usage, for adequate performance of hydraulics, long-term per

The world is not static and software these days is very interconnected. Dreams of not updating only work in a unchanging world. Sadly, this world is still to be found.

I hope they make out of this recent recession but people should be cautious in using words like "the economy surged" when describing a 1.3% increase in economic activity. If anything, Argentina is known for being a economic rolle

Anything that touches other systems is a risk and needs to be properly monitored and secured. I had a lot of reservations about companies installing Crowdstrike but I'm baffled by the lack of security awareness in many comments here. S

Do you see a lot of people driving around applying software updates with diskettes like in the old days? Have we learned nothing from how the uranium enrichment machines were hacked in Iran? Or how attackers routinely move laterally across

The chat/channel/whatever list is horrible. You can't group anything and there is no way to search. It's just scrolling up and down in the unordered list to find something. I thought Slack was bad but Teams is absolutely

That's talking about one project, not a company. A company might have repressed demand and more people could allow it to take on more projects and/or take care of tasks that are being left behind.

It'll be really hard to measure this because you can't easily isolate the impact of LLMs vs all the economy. I guess anything at all will overshadow LLMs numbers (e.g. tiny changes in Fed interest rates having more impact on job p

There's a rule I often ignore at my own peril: don't deploy version .0 of a software, ever. It needs 2-3 versions for all the bugs to be ironed out. Unless you like playing beta tester (which is a lot of fun sometimes). Same goes
