Sadly we started using Google Drive almost at the beginning of the company 5 years ago because the collaborative features in docs were really good, but it's a complete train wreck and so completely regret it.

Was looking for a way to send files easily from my iPhone to my arch machine -- when I was on macOS this was easy with Airdrop, now, not so much. This seems like a cool idea and a great project!

I don't know if I really agree -- I have found having a coach extremely valuable (and mine is totally unqualified in terms of psychology degrees, but has heaps of experience of coaching founders). Having someone to help you think throu

Those are all things I've found coaching to help with. I had tried other coaches before settling with mine, she was recommended by an investor who had worked with her closely for years. To be honest, so much of it is deeply personal. S

As a founder / CTO the best money I have spent is on a really good coach. My coach (my cofounder's too, and now some of our leadership team) doesn't have particular expertise in founding or leading companies, but works with m

I think the parent comment was just pointing out that the storage solution should work fine, given how many android devices use it.

I find this too, both on Linux and MacOS Chrome takes longer to load, longer to load pages, and eats huge amounts of CPU and RAM. By contrast (again, my experience), Firefox opens instantly for me and loads pages very fast even with about f

I don't think that illustrates that promotion of the type system as a useful tool is an "empty platitude". A well constructed syntax is certainly a nice feature of a programming language. One might say a language like brainfu

I remember posting about this on HN some time ago [1]. I didn't even have the patience to wait for the content to show up on this site since it wouldn't load in a reasonable time without access to the ampproject.com servers. 1: h

This is really the problem here, the government was more interested in hiring its friends than it was in ensuring a competent response to the pandemic. If you don't know how to implement this system, then perhaps you're in the wro

I quite like the edge approach (i.e. doing this via server-side logs rather than by adding a script to the client). I already do this with my own website using an ELK stack to ingest and visualies the nginx logs, but I have been wondering i

I use iwantmyname both for myself and my company and they have always been excellent. Loads of domains (I've never had a problem with something not being supported), good support, system works really well for me too.

Some counterexamples: 1. Argentina has one of the highest femicide rates in the world. 2. Brazil elected Bolsonaro, who spends a lot of time spouting homophobic / misogynistic things. 3. France nearly elected Marine LePen last time aro

I think there's considerable evidence just from reading the news that Hispanophone, Lusophone, and Francophone countries are _far_ from free of misogyny, racism, homophobia, and transphobia. I don't think hate speech is somehow li

I have µMatrix and lots of websites break but I'm more ok with that. I'm very irritated by having to disable my VPN, allow traffic outside of it, and then reload the website.

I don't think it's correct to say that calling it politics is somehow demeaning (however it's meant by the OP). Politics is really about the values our society wants to live by, so I think it is absolutely about politics! If

I agree that AMP is a major attack on the internet, not to mention the fact that it makes it way slower [1] and hard to understand what you're browsing. The worst part is that my friends send me AMP links all the time even though I use
