Perhaps, but then a better option would be to contribute back to the ecosystem by creating a nice DSL to compile back to zsh etc. completions and making a nice installer on top of that. I don't see how "autocomplete in your termin

So wouldn't a better solution be to make a nicer DSL for describing shell completions which is then translated into zsh, fish, etc. completions? Agree RE bash but at some point doesn't one just use the tool with the featureset one

I don't really understand what's so different from the ZSH completions which I already have in my terminal but with no data leaving my machine?

Did the classic extension work on Linux? When I switched from MacOS having to use the (terrible) 1PasswordX was one of the things that really annoyed me.

Absolutely agree with this. I find 1x1s with my directs a useful time to focus on communicating intent and mentoring, as well as hearing about the frustrations / other bits and pieces one might not casually hear about. Sure, some of th

Also a DO customer here, both personally and as a company all our infra runs on DO. I really like it except that the management platform is pretty slow and not very searchable which is annoying. Other than that it's great (and I prefer

I spend a lot of my day either with documents or in a terminal, I just don't find that it made a huge difference to my life.

As someone who went from a mac (for the last 15 years including several retina MBPs) to a 1920x1080 13" screen on a lemur pro, I really don't find that it makes a huge difference to me. I thought it would really irritate me but it

This is exactly the point I've been wondering about. What strikes me about this FLoC stuff is that we're removing a technology which was genuinely built for the user (cookies) to a technology whose SOLE purpose is tracking users.

I had this with my bicycle at some point -- learning to fix and tweak oneself without having to go to a mechanic was eye-opening. Reminds me of the core premises in Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.

I recently bought a copy of Pianoteq for Linux -- was very simple, I paid and received a license and a download link. Someone has already built a package for archlinux so I just had to point that at the downloaded file from modartt and away

I think this is down to the way Google implemented labels. I looked into this when I moved all my email off Google's servers and noticed they just list them as folders on IMAP, so a client would have to implement a special google-speci

I don't live in the United States, so don't really care that much what happens there to be honest. There are a lot of assumptions (and lazy labels) being used in this debate, and many models exist in which you don't have such

This isn't really about that though: the debate in the UK has been around the fact that Uber constrains its "contractors" as though they were employees, while not affording them the rights employees would normally have. They

Even those of us who do use Linux as a daily driver can forget sometimes ;) I spend my days in Arch and occasionally interact with Debian-based servers but never have to consider the cross-compatibility (or otherwise) of other distros.

I used to have this with airdrop all the time, and handoff too. So much potential but never really worked well. When it works it feels magical, but most of the time I just ended up being frustrated and copying things up and down via dropbox

I switched from being a long time mac user (macbook pro) to System76 and you'll never get Apple's build quality. I find the build quality disappointing compared to apple, but otherwise decent. Personally I'm happy with the pu

How does this play with the security of e.g. Signal? Security and privacy is the main reason many of us will use it so I wouldn't want to compromise it. Would love to use this on Linux, I find all the desktop apps really rubbish (and v

I'd never thought of this but it strikes me as a really interesting idea. It's really important to retain a well funded, OSS, citizen-oriented browser since the web is a crucial technology now. A foundation funded by the EU (witho
