For a for-profit shop like Bitbucket, there's probably a business reason for that. I certainly don't have any metrics to back this up, but I can understand how they'd want to primarily appeal to what seems to be a wider git a

As someone who spends 40+ hours a week working with Python, I really like Go as a whole. I like being able to explicitly declare types, I love channels. It's way easier to deploy my Go apps than my Python apps (statically compile and t

I didn't think Oracle SQL server has CTEs, but maybe that's changed. Postgres CTEs are amazing, though. Surprisingly efficient for our particular usage case (threaded discussions that don't ever get too deep).

We started writing a threaded discussion system using these, but it ended up being much easier to use Postgres's Recursive CTEs. Highly recommend!

I still cringe a little bit when I see "Deskstar", but apparently they've turned it around in a big way. I'm still irrationally scared, though.

I don't think it's a performance and memory issue that the author is raising. Ruby, much like Python, mostly wraps some lower level libraries for game dev. In both cases, you either make sure your users have dependencies installed
