Being extremely consistent with applying your brand is half the battle won. So many startups, particularly the web2.0 variety pollute their brand. Also, your brand isn't just your logo - it's your entire look and feel. Those facebook busin

Sounds like systemic lipservice-style management to me. I don't buy it at all, and I've only encountered this from MBA-types in our US office.

It depends. I have an industry website with a very narrow focus, and get about 80% verification rate. I'm considering dropping email verification, but I believe that 80% I get now is a very good rate. Biggest thing to consider is your MTA.

I've had an idea to build a list app for a while, but the devil is in the details. My mental list (ahem!) of features went like this: - It needs to hold lists of key/value pairs of any size (bit like memcached, or a list of dicts in python)

Cappuccino is squarely in the "Uncanny Valley" according to Atwood, but I disagree with his analysis. If you look at 280 slides, it doesn't behave quite like a mac, but it's still intuitive. People understand the WIMP. I think he's conflat

I vote turn it off in the morning - that way you don't start your day with procrastination, and folk in the UK get a nice mid afternoon break.

My understanding is that the bundle needs to be signed, but also the code needs to be signed to execute. You can't sign code on the device. So this is bullshit.

Michael Malone has a bit of a reputation as a ball-breaker, and although I don't think much of his ISP I am thoroughly impressed that he's spoken out about this in public. Could have been a bad move though, as I think the government will do

Surely there is some chair that is less than $500 that is excellent. Can anyone make a suggestion? I'd really like to buy my wife and I a decent chair each but I'm not sure we can just drop $3600 on 2 office chairs.

Target disk mode saved my ass just last night. But I'm all for progress. Also, if you consider the waste that went into fitting almost every single mac since 1999 with unused firewire ports, it makes you cringe. If you have a pro audio int
