I quit with no notice so there was no attempt to hand over. I was the only senior at the company (25+ years experience) and the rest were jrs (1-3 years). The 19 people that replaced me were juniors who developed whole new software based up

Uber has raised their rates significantly I've noticed in the last year or so to where it's no longer feasible to take as alternative or daily transport.

You can doubt all you want, I read the rules, concurrences, and dissents on most SC decisions. The media doesn't really report the facts on them so I prefer to get them right from the source.

But it's up to the people to decide. That's what freedom is.

It also makes it easier for states to expand access to abortion, including expanding it up through the 3rd trimester. Just today, CA put a Constitutional amendment on the ballot in November to allow up to the final minute abortions. That ru

Yeah, RBG really fucked the Dems by not retiring with Obama in office.

It's called the filibuster.

No it isn't. Stop exaggerating.

Highly disagree. All of the recent decisions make perfect legal sense, this coming from the son of a Constitutional attorney who has described to me the rulings, reasons behind them, precedents, etc.. And he's a pro-choice, anti-gun De

Agreed. This isn't about climate change, it's about proper procedure as the Constitution sets it up. The EPA went past its mandated purposes as set up by law. Congress needs to pass a new law to give it this power. If it can'

Agreed. China and India put out significantly more and dirtier pollution than the US and nuclear is the only realistic pathway forward for base emissions-free power. Furthermore, this was the right decision. You can't just have the exe

At one company I worked at, after I quit, they had to hire 19 engineers to rebuild the piece of software I built on my own. What took me 9 months took them a year. I quit because they wouldn't give me a raise. Even the CTO recognized t

I'm pro-choice as well and think this was the right decision. Roe created a Constitutional right that didn't exist. All this does today is correct that mistake. As a big believer in states' rights, I"m glad to see more r

Because a lot of those people acted like they were smarter than everyone else and shoved their gains in our faces for years. I'm happy to see crypto bros losing their shirts.

Actually, you're kind of off base. The first responders couldn't have been nicer. The firemen, EMTs, and policemen who responded were very kind and courteous. They didn't restrain me in the ambulance or anything. I thought I

I was at Quince once ($5,000 meal) and looked out the window to see a homeless man shitting on the window. Ah SF.

I moved to Boston. Those things you describe I saw daily in SF - broken car windows, theft at retail stores, and rampant homelessness. I can go months in Boston without seeing a single homeless person, drive around all winter with all my sk

I left in 2018. It was a crime ridden, filty, disgusting hellhole then and my friends still there tell me it's gotten much worse. They'd all leave except they're executives at tech companies and are making too much.

To be perfectly fair, as someone who had a suicide attempt in SF and was held under a 5150 at SF general, what came after the attempt was much, much, much worse than the attempt itself. Inpatient mental health treatment and healthcare in SF
