I know a lot of individuals and startups, most over the $250k limit, who did not get out in time. SVB disabled wires and transfers for many yesterday.

Can someone explain to me why high interest banks make VC lending so much more difficult to acquire? I genuinely can't wrap my head around it.

Very true. Business used to be about the honest exchange of value. Now almost everything is a scam. I've seen it with my own eyes over the last 30 years. It's horrible.

You're saying we shouldn't call out people who didn't do their due diligence on who they took money from? I say the opposite. Tar and feather them.

There is court precedent that government cannot use private entities to silence speech, as they are doing in this case. This is a pretty cut and dry violation of the first amendment. Expect lawsuits.

There is, even if the companies can refuse. The government cannot ask companies to censor something. This is a direct violation of the first amendment.

Yeah, my goal is to make a company as dependent upon me as possible in order to grow my income, not make it so I'm disposable.

Almost all of the companies I worked at hired senior positions from outside the company instead of promoting from within. The other issue I ran into was being so good at the position I was in that I was "unpromotable". Got told th

From what I've heard, depends upon the FAANG. Google apparently has good work/life balance. All of them are all about making it through the interview process, which is a nightmare.

Most companies will pay people the absolute bare minimum to get them to work there while barely being angry enough not to quit.

They do seem to have it down. Startups on the other hand absolutely do not.

Ha. I had the CFO once call me angrily asking where I was......I was in the bathroom. She told me to get back to my desk. I took my time.

Oh, I've quit 3 companies where I was the CTO/lead engineer where they had to replace me with 5-10 people (backend and frontend devs, QA, devops, plus a manager or two, etc.) costing them enormous amounts of money. Many times they

This is definitely the opposite of what most of my employers have done. Gotten denied raises countless times which has forced me to find new employment to advance my career while they are 100% focused on hiring new talent. Lots of turnover

Seriously. And the dollar has lost 13% of its value with compounded inflation in just over the last year.

How do they expect to fucking keep talent when we can just jump house and make that much more to companies that have adjusted to inflation?

And now, since the start of inflation, in the last year, the value of a dollar has eroded 13%. Have you gotten a 13% raise just to maintain your cost of living?
