This post talks about remote but I will generalize beyond remote. Effective sharing is amazing and a superpower. Doesn't have to be chat either. Years ago (between 2006-2012) I worked for a company that implemented Salesforce. We were

I like this way of thinking. Musician: you may never make it “big.” You might be making close to nothing in bars and other venues and only during later hours. People love covers even if you love your originals. Travel is brutal. Irregular h

This reminds me of the broader right tool for the job approach. Collaborative sharing is great, really. I enjoy it. I use it as much as I can. But there are many moments when it is best (in numerous ways) for me to just make a spreadsheet.

I’d argue it’s basically impossible to control usage no matter what. Example: screenshot. Now toss it in ChatGPT or tool of your choice and ask it to extract the content.

Such a smart point. I see this in my own experience with therapy. Someone might ask: why wouldn't you be totally honest or transparent if you're paying someone to listen to you and offer advice? Well, it's hard! Lots of topic

Reminds me that some of the hardest partiers/most adventurous kids were not popular: theater kids!

Popularity is also so subjective. I look back at high school and see several popular groups. Did one rise above the others? Not in an obvious way. Like you said: some were from wealthier families, some were the athletes and their groupies (

I think this is simple and has little to do with child care. I have 2 kids, fully remote, but otherwise worked office jobs (w/kids) prior to 2022. Companies believe that in-person interactions lead to more productivity. And I think tha

I didn't see any apps mentioned but my naive question for this space: Are there any subscription-only apps out there that don't advertise at all (in app) and if they do it is based entirely on anonymized broader categories rather

I’m curious: with that many saves, what were you main reasons for using Pocket? Did you glean info at scale or is it just the case that you saved so much, read some subset, and it grew over time?

People interacted with their cousins a few times per year prior to the internet and social media. So, it’s not good/bad strategy but instead can I do this if I’d like to? Yes. You can. I still do many of these low frequency hellos/

How much are jobs then attained in purely transactional ways? Perhaps I am too invested in people, but relationships matter my industry (insurance). I think you develop them in part by not being purely transactional, and they later help if

Did a switch flip or was it a gradual turn? I think about this too: should I just have a job to do the job well enough / adequately so to speak and then focus my brain power elsewhere (kids, house, amateur trades, etc)

I start with this explanation too. In his interview yesterday he mentioned that he won his weekend golf tournament. Of course he did, otherwise it wouldn’t be newsworthy (still isn’t, but oh well). Then he asked the reporter if she saw that
