I think this is right. To say it a different way - lots of business users won't bother looking at BI stuff enough to help you understand what they want, and when they do look, they want something else. Vicious cycle.

I understood the point, but was simply commenting from a different angle. Otherwise, I agree with you - I found the rest of the article pretty unremarkable. Lots of blogger words without much substance.

Fair anecdote in return! I'm Italian-American - so as a kid my Italian grandparents shoved food in my face and forcefully said "mangia!" That's not happening these days! One aspect of this I forgot: when my parents eat w

> Clean your plate? An anecdote that I'm sure some here know well: you serve food of any amount to your kids and they eat some? Maybe a bite? Sometimes nothing. It's not clear why. So as a parent, you get used to gathering up t

Fun question to think about what you have to rewrite vs not. This reminded me of my last firm where we had a C# system with tons of Task Parallel Library code, nearly all of it written poorly or not written for the correct use-cases. My col

Do you integrate your bank accounts/etc via API or do you pull the data into the sheet manually on some periodic basis? Second question - are you using your own categories or do you rely on bank/card? Asking as I’m sort of in the

Yea, 5.3 base. Any thoughts on how to check the transformers? Is it as annoying as I assume because the transformer is hiding somewhere in the ceiling? I've otherwise tried switch changes, but as you point out with the transformer, it

Completely agree with your last point. So many of my tools over the years have stuck with their simple command line initiation rather than wrapping into GUIs or other alternatives. Being able quickly write “python [whatever you are doing]”

Interesting comment. I have a number of MR16 bulbs in my house that were previously halogen and are now mostly LED. They are a near constant source of frustration with bulbs burning out way too soon, some with what seems like wiring issues,

It's expensive but hard to go wrong with Rogue. I've used their stuff in gyms and at home. It's solid. In my experience, great customer service as well. So, if you plan to use that home gym over the long run - invest in high-

Reminds me of a recent exchange during which someone sent me an email with the word anachronistic but then explained it with “updated in the past” later in the sentence. Laughed at the use of extra words to explain a big word rather than ju

I'm not off non-fiction entirely but I do agree with one variation: I don't read non-fiction books that are written as prescriptive "do this to succeed" business advice. Nothing turns me off more quickly. Those books are

Definitely something you can integrate but the wide grip pull-up is less efficient even if it better isolates the back. Again, I’m not saying avoid it, but just that it’s not as much a compound exercise as a normal pull-up. My rule of thumb

I think you're making a very good point. Most of us are in school as a requirement. Music lessons aren't a forced requirement like school, at least generally speaking. It is instead parents that often push their kids into lessons.

I agree you should play with other people, but disagree entirely that you aren't a musician if you don't check those boxes. Maybe what you mean is "performer" and even then I'm not sure the logic holds.
