I always thought that to beat google you would have to be better by a huge margin. So even if its true that this searchengine performs 5% better (whatever that measures) it's not enough to convince people to switch.

Well the first half of my statement is obviously true (todays computers are not self-aware). The second half contains the word "probably". My point was that it is silly to talk about robot ethics or something like that, since it just distra

This is pure Bullshit! Robots, or AIs don't have a conciousness (and probably they never will). And as long as we've not created a robot/AI with a real concious mind we need not to worry about 'punishing' robots or giving them ethical rules

I like the second idea, but I don't see where you'll make money with it (at least in 6-8 months).

It took me some minutes to figure out the difference in those 2 urls. I think it might be better in terms of usability and fairness if you chose a different domain. one that differs more from the existing project.

Well MS might just end the support on Vista someday and then companies would have to upgrade to 7 or end up with an unsupported product. Or you buy some new office machines and they'll have 7 preinstalled (so you have to spend extra cash to

I think there is a usecase/market where you offer an HTML-Interface to the form and save/send the results as pdf. Imagine a job-application form at a big company where the applicants can fill the form online but the HR guys get mailed a pdf

since google chrome runs on microsoft windows, I think it would only be fair if microsoft internet explorer would be allowed to run on google chrome os (under the condition that ms would port it, which seems rather unlikely)

I think you'll have a lot of tedious work ahead of you but if you succeed it will definitely be a useful thing. But keep an eye on the TOS of the different services, they might cause you trouble. And if you ever release something, please na

I often use Stumbleupon to quickly send links to a friend (but thats not sharing like you describe it). I think such a plugin would be usefull, but I'm not shure if it could support a business (if that's what you have in mind).

You might also run into copyright/trademark issues with that domain-name. see: http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/07/01/twitter-grows-uncomfort...

I think the ".in" is perfect for some location specific service. You could build urls like tweet.in/London etc. There are already some services that show you twitter-users in some specific city or area, the problem is that these people do n

If the money isn't the motivator (gets donated anyway) you could use a virtual currency. "karma" or something similar. You might monitor svn/git activity and create a community where people could rate each others commits and give each other

I like your suggestion a lot. I came up with this idea because I have some domains from unstarted projects (already with corresponding ideas). So I might as well try to sell the idea along. It would be an experiment, rather then a business

If I just tell them a free name after they filled the form, how would I get paid? If I register the domain I have an assurance that someone actually pays for the "idea".

It's a nice tech demo, but nothing more. I doubt it will ever be usefull, because that would require real semantic data or real AI (and neither seems to be around soon).
