Software is advancing so fast. Interesting to constantly reconsider the things I consider myself ahead of the curve on vs behind the curve on. Prisma looks great so I've updated my I want functional dbs, not ORMs post: https:/&#x

It might be a good strategic move to publish a React component to do this for the non iframe solution enthusiasts out there. It would be good to see people start using SageMath notebooks where they otherwise might be using Katex or Mathjax

Is there an easy way to embed a sage notebook viewer / editor inside a webpage without installing a sagecell server?

Agree 100%. I've thought this is the right way to do web SSO for as long as there has been a web. OpenId connect & Oauth are privacy disasters. Before the advent of the internet customer lists (aka goodwill) was considerd ultra pro

Very cool. I would love to see the python science stack translated into native typescript/js. Sometimes you just want something quick and easy that doesn't require sorting through virtual env hassles.

I suggest you separate the data entry and schema design screens into two pages. I think there are alot of people out there who want to give users a great admin gui but not necessarily give them control of the schema.

Anyone know projects that have done this in reverse? I've seen a really good one but I've lost track of it.

That's the problem. Try denormalizing your data. Use indexes more. If you can, pre fetch & cache your data.

I don't understand the distinction you are making between a distributed ledger and distributed consistency. I suspect it will be easy to create a byzantine error avalanche with your current design - or break consistency (eg. different

I hope you reconsider this design decision. What is the value in federation if people can come away with different opinions as to what was said in a conversation? Eg. for example a $$ contract negotiation and an attacker using something lik

How does Matrix achieve linearizability in group chat / federation? I'm curious about what eng tradeoffs and so on have been made and so on. Imo zookeeper type system with an eventual transition to async bft consensus is the best

You seem wistful for a world that already exists. Google is doing this with the html5 canvas with flutter. A few other open source vector ui toolkits out there too like zebkit.org. If you want to create static webpages you could use paper.j

Any comment on that storage-changed lib? I think that's a massively underrated abstraction for high level state / comms. I want it to be more popular. :)

Might be a good feature. One idea might be a standard way of wrapping a react component so that it uses an embedded iframe / postmessage to post messages back and forth with solid. Tho personally I would like to see this approach to ma

Can you use react components with it? All the libraries of beautiful components are the main reason why I use react. Like I know you can but with cross component comms and stuff. Does the state thing have the same gotchas as react hooks? No

Good feedback. Thanks tpetry as well. I agree about the tag. It's a cultural oversight that all secure hashes aren't labelled as such. When one is used it ought to be identified by its respective hash algorithm, eg. sha1:/&#x

We need a new default hash algorithm for general purpose stuff, because sha512 is a bit too long for copy/paste imho. I propose shac = sha1sum(sha512sum(data)) - for sha concatenated. Thoughts?

Self install plug & play solar is a big opportunity imo. Because install costs are such a big share of system costs. The tipping point will probably be a company that ships a modular system that can be installed with only a mobile phon

My ideal would be sqlite in the back, sqlite in the browser, with a sync table that uses database triggers for managing a log of the normal tables. I've written a few more thoughts here: https://github.com/ericbets&#x

I'm genuinely interested but there are a few meetup clones on github, & getting traffic to an app like this is a hard task even in the best of times. Right now seems like a particularly rough time for this. Do you have any insights

So it sounds a bit like you've replicated git. Do you agree that for the collaborative data structures side of things (like the chat app) users of the hypercore-protocol will likely run into clock trust problems? PS I'm a big fan

How do you handle merge conflicts? Since you aren't calling it a blockchain I take it that Hypercore is targeted at the trusted (writers) and semi-trusted (readers) use case?

You could try dropbox. I think your idea of github for non programmers is a worthy one though. We did something similar after hacking together something like our own version of sparkleshare. YMMV, but it has worked out really well for us.
