Two big things: • The Inbox Platform isn't a proxy later. It actually maintains a full mail sync, so response times are super fast. Context.IO is ridiculously slow (like 10-30 sec). • Support for Exchange ActiveSync. They've been

The Gmail API is great, but if you're building a real app that needs more compatibility, Inbox is a much better fit. https://www.inboxapp.com/features Plus, the Inbox sync engine is open source. https://gith

(I work at Inbox.) IMAP libraries are good enough to not have to pay for a wrapper when using most email providers I found this actually not to be true when building my own stuff. Although IMAP is a "standard," the v

Where the Inbox API really shines is when you want to build an app that pulls alerts, sales leads, tickets, etc. out of someones mailbox. It's the other side of the puzzle.

Why don't you think Marisa is up to the task? She seems more than capable to me, and has done a remarkable job leading Yahoo so far.

This is such a depressing comment to read. Especially as the top one on HN. Maybe he just wanted to make it? You know, the same reason someone might write a compiler, build a violin, cook a casserole, go jogging? Just the fact that he'

We announced this a couple of months ago, though the company has been around for a while. We're also just quieter than most startups. Less blogging and talk, more code. :)

That's why we built Inbox. :) https://www.inboxapp.com/ In short, the Inbox API is a translation layer between IMAP's eccentricities and modern JSON REST endpoints. Plus it's open source free software.

Easy but wildly incorrect due to the exponential factor. For example, if you assume a 15% dilution over 11 fundraising rounds, then it's 0.0167% which is +$1.5MM at a $9B valuation. at 20%: +730k at 25%: +$380k I picked 15% because it
