I find twitter search useful. For example, when I was shopping for a newly released netbook, I searched the keyword on twitter for a few days, to see what people say about it and what new reviews are being released. After a few days, I was

Don't beat him, I think it's useful to reflect on HN now and then. Still, I think the system still works basically ok, and it is only an issue for all of us to make better submits.

From Scoble post about GReader: >> 3. It makes me feel guilty. I have 1,000 unread items. Twitter doesn’t tell me that. Actually, I happen to agree with this point. The feed reader tracks what is read and what is unread, and that ca

I like the fact that it is possible to switch off/on individual parts of the website (link in the upper-right corner). It would be cool if someone came up with a general solution applicable to all websites.

What is depressing is that Google likes that kind of content, when a lot of cheap articles are pumped in furiously. If they were after quality, they could de-rank Demand and that would make them out of business quickly. But they wouldn't do

As I understand it, the mathematics approach is for finding questions, and I don't think there is something inherently nightmarish about that. It's the quality of the answer that matters. I don't know, I just watched the "What is the best v

Did you try it yourself? I am asking because I was thinking about that for myself, and I could do that, but then, if you work 10 hours + 0.5 hour (lunch) + 2 hours travel, then for those 4 days, you are off for the whole day, basically. For

I've got a more interesting question: Is RSS the best technology for delivering daily reading? I tended to think so and I have been an avid user of Google Reader, which diligently delivers a new stuff to read every day. But after some time

I don't agree with this snippet, at least it doesn't apply to me. I bought netbook, but I wouldn't buy "real laptop" if netbook didn't exist, so no cannibalization happened. Moreover, I am not sure about that distinction. What exactly is th

But when you do want to use it as a backup, isn't picasa rather expensive? You get 1GB for free, but that's just enough for uploading smaller version of your photos. Otherwise, the price is rather high, and what's worse, you pay for disk sp

Answer: No, we didn't. In my opinion, the desktop apps are still needed, and part of the future will be applications like Evernote, where your data are on the cloud and online version is available, but there are also native rich clients for

I like my netbook and didn't encounter the issues you are describing. Battery life is 4.5 hours, which is quite ok-ish, and the new EEE netbooks have 8+ hours. The cpu speed is also ok, although i don't play games or process very large file

Your analogy is logical, but there's still a difference. Newsstand and newspapers agreed beforehand the terms of their cooperation, and while they don't pay just for displaying the paper, they do pay certain amount of money for each sold pi

You nailed it. I'd like to challenge him to apply the Rule "(1) Your guesses and opinions have to be testable." I am just curious to see how he would test this guess (or opinion), and how did he promoted it as "fact".
