What is the scale and potential difficulties involved for a migration like this? I hope some HN readers can inform us on the technical challenges.

When dealing with contractors, it's impossible not to maintain a LAMP stack. Often times I don't get to choose the technology I have to deploy, and it's not fun when I get to wrestle with PHP. Luckily the contractors' ti

Honestly, very true. After doing some brief work for a financial services company, the one thing they were consistently surprised at was how fast the application ran! Yeah, duh. I render simple HTML templates on the server and serve them as

Completely valid points, and I agree to all of them. Alas, as other commenters have pointed out, the issue is devs at smaller companies deploying smaller products buying into the idea that they need k8s. I believe that it is the community

You get immediate executables through Go. PHP, on the other hand, requires fifty packages and your sister's phone number before you get segmentation faults from the caching script and give up.

It might be that Russians cooperate very well (I do definitely agree on that), but as the organisation grows bigger, it is definitely very Russian to not be able to do anything.

This is used for sites such as Genius (lyrics aggregator/social commentary mix, still uses Apple Music I believe) to provide a snippet to browsers without a subscription.

In the end it's not a pissing contest by any means. The factors contributing to the mental issues of European students might be different than the Americans', but the overall trend is apparent for both demographics. Sadly enough

European students who are not under crushing debt are also having difficulties with such mental health problems. The root of the anxiety and the following depression is economic prospects and the terrible status quo.

I think concentration and magnitude is key. Frying definitely vaporises oils into the air but it doesn't seem to be causing lung issues.

Are there any differences between a KV-store in the form of "Bob:Knows" — "John" and a triple store in the form of "Bob" — "Knows" — "John"? Redis, for example, can query the first one easil

That is my concern too. My maths script is very good—I put considerable effort into the equations I write and as such the numbers, lines, and symbols turn out very good. On the other hand, no matter how much I studied lettering (regular a

Wow, they took the touchscreen and added like, four more. Not surprised, because electrics cars ought to have them (!), but also surprised given the recent decision by Mazda to exclude them from future vehicles.

One thin that people miss for dropdowns is that you can actually type N..E..W.. and it will select New Zealand. Most browsers implement some sort of combo counter for it, such that the entry resets after a while too. I do agree that search

In all fairness, big or small, that's firm hierarchy in law, finance, and accounting and control. The fairness of pay and average competency might be better in smaller ones, but it's just what it is (as unfortunate as that is).
