America is just way bigger than any of those countries/cities; and we also know that, historically, American protestors have had significant difficulties organising themselves in a manner that is representative of the interests of the

I had an experience like this with a stranger on https://sysop.chat/ (as seen before on HN!) where he 'emulated' a text adventure. It was quite fun to see the story he built and the mistakes he made while typing (

It's the good ol' cheese grater, the case design was known for a while.

Problem is that even though the Juul cartridges are proprietary, that hasn't stopped people from making Juul-compatible off-brand products. There are of course other concerns besides the vaporised oils.

Regarding the increase, I would argue that is less about increased device complexity but more about the increase in the amount of people who are using these devices on a daily basis. More they use, the more problems they encounter; I think

Cheese grater will definitely stick just like trashcan. Both highly utilitarian tools, mind you.

I have foregone an opportunity to work for a very big company straight out of graduation simply because I just enjoyed my internship there too much, and it was in complete contrast to how my peers described their experiences with their inte

As GP, mentioned, you put the correct shebang. I write stuff in Python and make them as pipe-capable as possible. You don't have to bend hell and flip it upside down to write scripts.

Some level of infantilising is not necessarily a bad thing. I definitely was not equipped mentally to be able to overcome the things I am dealing with in my 20s. Was I any less smart when I was 11? Probably not; but now I have other skills

Did not do a code review but I would not be surprised if they were using Unreal's default vehicle simulation; which, as you noted, is indeed sub-par. It's honestly a very challenging task to get vehicle physics to accurately repli

You could always do it the Europass way and embed the metadata in the PDF. Their system can read back its own exports into the interface and allow you to edit the contents. Would still work with your subscription model too.

I ran through the source code of the renderer first, and then the implementation for the rest later. And I can honestly say this is one of the prettier Rust code I have seen so far.

Things like these are truly the things that keep me up at night. The more centralised governments' and corporations' power get concentrated, the more suffering we have.

This is all well and good but isn't there a limit on the length of URLs? Or does that simply not apply to blob data links.

Shipping foreign produce is not good for the environment at all. Easy to harvest and low maintenance produce such as garlic should not need to be imported. The margins over garlic may be low, but local producers can still benefit from being

Unfortunate about the performance. A side question I have is whether or not this is Turing complete given the lack of looping and recursion possible (at least in this example). The author defines each iteration 'manually.'
