Sadly about 98% of real world users are going to fall into scams, ransomwares and stuff. They are not mentally challenged, there are just so many traps/fakes/tempting stuff that we as IT people are more aware of (but even we still

Can only agree on that: took 5 ferries this summer from 5 to 18 hours, and it's almost always a very nice experience. You have to be ready for "rough" seas though, may be a problem for some. Even the wait time before getting

It's not so much about security, as FOSS conversation groups would be open to anyone anyway, but it's not a good look for a project to use a tool that is known to be quite shady while there are FOSS tools, or simply tools with a b

It doesn't make sense for an open-source group making open-source projects and strongly promoting open-source to use such a tool for group chat. There are plenty of open-source alternatives or alternatives with no such negative associa

CRDTs are not a solved problem as of today, there is no perfect solution in the current state-of-the-art, it's still a field with quite some active research.

CRDTs mostly have a time notions like Lamport clocks, vector clocks, ... not actual device time => see more here: https://adamwulf.me/2021/05/distributed-clocks-and-crdts/

As I said: "than something else it can be compared to"; if we are talking about cars, you compare to other cars, not to gold or even bikes. If this car looses more value than another, then it's shit.

If something looses value faster than something else it can be compared to, then it's considered as worse, meaning fewer people are going to buy it, meaning if you have one, you'll be able to afford less than others in a few years

Flight from Edinburgh to Manchester is just a bit more than 1 hour, so after trying 2 landings, diverting to Edinburgh (15-20 minutes flight), 1 more landing attempt, well, you get very close to 2 hours.
