I'm curious how certain things fit into city living. Examples: Rockband the Game. You can't play that game in an apartment in the city without being a total dick to your neighbors. You can play it in a house in suburbia. Arguably

I'm actually curious how anyone not a geek gets on Wifi at many coffee shops etc. Many captive portals don't seem to do anything and chrome just says "can't connect" or "cert bad". I used to go to test.com

This is an honest question, I'm not trying to be negative but I'm really confused. It would seem like best practices is that all of this is part of your automated tests. Tests that are checked in to your repo and written in code

Not sure if this is a dark pattern but on Airbnb the "report listing" link disappears the moment you scroll. Searching for it I couldn't find it.

There's more than just the person getting rained on getting wet. They show up all wet at some place and then get that place all wet. That's seems pretty selfish. My dad lives in Seattle. I brought him to Japan. Him and my stepmom

I was just at Bitsummit a couple of weeks ago and there were just as many Rifts as Vives by all developers. They all had the finger pads and so played basically the same except everyone said things looked better in the Rift. The only minus

Or it's possible we're talking about differing amount of pain or different ways we experience pain. My back gave out once and for about a week nearly every movement was excruciating. Getting out of bed was a 10 minute ordeal. Tryi

I agree. Namecheap currently only supports SMS 2FA. I'm abroad with a local sim in my phone so I registered my Google Voice # with them. It would really suck if I had to carry my USA sim at all times and swap it anytime I wanted to log

As someone who travels SMS sucks for authentication. Maybe most people don't travel but I suspect once they do and wind up unable to access their accounts would not be too happy

As others have pointed out SMS has issues. You need a phone contract. Forget to pay your bill this month? No logging in for you. Switch providers and forget to change all your services over? Oh well, all your data is lost, make new accounts

I've never used Facebook's API but I assume each server/app that wants to access it has an API key specific to that server/app. Couldn't Facebook just revoke the key? Or change its permissions?

I'd expect it to be audio-ish. I can hear my Macbook Pro compute. AFAIK there's no moving parts except the fan but certain programs I can audibly hear something going on inside the machine. It's kind of annoying as I wish it

Those stickers are cool. Japan had various dangly things to attach to your feature phone that worked similarly for years. Smartphones generally have no place to attach anything so they seem to have mostly disappeared.

I look at Unity as a Camera. 100 years ago you needed to build your own camera if you wanted to shoot a movie. Now, almost no directors build their own cameras except for special needs (filming underwater for example). So, do you want to ma
