Yeah, the author seems a little crazy about web components being approved. React and JSX are still good and they're not instantly disappearing or anything. > Shadow DOM makes it hard to theme your app The styling is a little differe

I'm surprised to see all the negative comments about the build quality and support. I got a Gazelle laptop over a year ago and I've been happy with it so far. For the price, the hardware was a bit better than Dell and others. My c

One particular issue that makes this difficult to enforce is the nature of nation-state cyber weapons. Unlike physical weapons, which can be regulated by tracking their location or use, cyber weapons are undetectable by design. Less advance

I agree. Even General Hayden complains about how ridiculously over-classified the US cyber warfare operations are.[0] Why can't we have a well informed debate over the new cyber weapons that our government has developed? I didn't

I don't think there is an easy way to tell the browser not to download something because the connection is slow. Progressive enhancement can work well for giving users a basic page that loads quickly with minimal assets while also down

Anyone use DDG's grouping search syntax much?[0] I've always wondered if this is something just for bots or if humans actually write out complex searches like that. If you use it how are the results? [0] https://duck.co&

Could that be done with a Linux pen drive? When I was in college I used to carry around a usb stick with a QEMU image of tiny core linux. With some trickery, that could boot on public, school computers. Back at my house I had a server runni

I love using ClojureScript but one other downside is the lack of ClojureScript jobs. There are thousands of JS jobs right now but how many cljs jobs are hiring? Tens? That sucks because cljs is great but it's probably the biggest incen

I think macros can still be used for developing simple systems but it comes at a more difficult development cost. Unless you're used to macros, they're weird to write and there aren't many places to learn about macro design p

It'd be doable but getting a nice Clojure-y API over it would take a little more work. To start, you could try making a 1-to-1 mapping by closing over the web worker methods with cljs functions. To keep track of the web workers, you co
