Sure you can get fired, but at least you got paid for your work. If you want someone to volunteer their time, you'd better treat him well.

The problem with points is that they become the way to gauge your reputation. In contrast, in fora like HN or reddit (where points are, well, pointless) the username is the way to gauge your reputation. So I don't care how many poi

It's for several reasons (and why I personally find reddit (of all places!) a much more welcoming and useful community): 1. Points. They're very visible, giving you power. If you want power, you mine for points, and once you earn

I think its about which languages have good dependency management. For example, Go, C and C++ have bad dependency management, so most programmers will try to stick to stdlib solutions, only moving to dependencies if copy-paste is an overkil

I'm not a DBA, and it could very well be that it's because I'm coming from the LAMP world, but when I need something light and simple, MySQL or MariaDB fit the bill a lot more than Postgres. In MySQL there are five steps: Ins

Just to emphasize: There is no limit to the earth's gravitational pull. The formula is F=G*sqrt(m1m2)/r^2. So as r (the distance between the center of the earth and your satellite) increases, F decreases. But it never hits zero. T

You forgot (especially you're counting consumer Windows, and 2000 was Server windows) 3.1 -> 95 -> 98 (OK. That was normal) -> ME -> XP -> Vista -> 7 (Which should have been 9 If I counted correctly) -> 8 (another

1. LAMP - If you're working with shared hosting, there isn't much of a choice. 2. WordPress. 3. If you need something simple and basic, MySQL is much easier to get up and running.

It's not about email being easy. It's that I don't want my email getting out (spam and all that - you send one email to a bad behaving mailing list, and your email is all over the internet forever for spambots to harvest.)

You can be unsafe even with typesafe builders. See fn build(text_to_show: &str) -> HTML{ HTML(Body(H1(text_to_show))) } What if text_to_show wasn't sanitized? You got yourself a XSS. And if you do sanitize it (and keep it in a
