Link is messed up. Goes to something about printing a book, but if you hit the 'back' button at the top, you get the previous blog post, which is in fact about EM vs health This seems to get you there: https://huijzer.x

Sure, that's true for single connections, the state of the switchboard when you have exactly one patch plugged in. If there are 5000 phones, there would be 5000 possible starting points and 4999 possible ending points, and as you say,

Maybe it's just my browser didn't render something right, but I don't think it was meant to say 1020 eV, but rather 10^20 eV. The rest mass of a proton alone is on the order of 938,000,000 eV.

Well, on further consideration, I arrived at N!/((2^(N/2)*(N/2)!) Still, pretty astronomical.

Thank you for surfacing that info, was wondering if I seriously had to go start opening files to find out. Btw, that's a 256 pin BGA part, grandad's Weller cannot help.

You'd think that at least initially, individual towns would stand up fully connected (albeit small) but isolated networks. That before very long, the idea of connecting one town to the next would occur, and it would be realized that yo

Does this mean that probably somewhere below that tower, there were operator stations that would have allowed any of the 5500 lines to connect to any of the other lines? How many simultaneous calls would that even be? Correct me if I borked

"use two fingers to move map" WHY? Afaict the only thing that one finger drag is bound to, is an obnoxious message to use two fingers to do that.

The photons created in the core are some seriously energetic gama rays. Sure, gama rays are very penetrating, but the solar core is dense, and it's about half a million miles to the surface, so these mostly get absorbed right there in

I.e., that bit they refer to as the photosphere, effectively the radiating 'surface' of the sun, is the source of the solar photons that strike us here. That trip takes about 8 minutes.

It'd have to be pretty darned big, to sustain a population large enough to remain viable for a couple of centuries. You'd then have to figure out how to get enough delta-v on it to escape the solar system, but then you'd also

You certainly could simulate time dilation, I'd be surprised if that isn't already an element of some game out there. If you go close enough to the speed of light, what you actually see is that space appears to shrink (in the dire

Doesn't this imply ice cream that could conceivably be presented in a not-cold state? Call me old fashioned, but isn't the point of ice cream that it's cold? Wouldn't be preferable to develop ice cream that doesn'
