No, submarines sank 200 IJN warships and aircraft and surface ships claimed another 134. While aircraft sank some of the more important ships (carriers), subs were really responsible for the defeat of the IJN. Also, mines were responsible f

One side effect of the Allied bombing campaign was wiping out the Luftwaffe as a force. Luftwaffe pilots flew until they died, that's why they had aces with high kill counts, and pilots like Rudel decimating Russian tanks. In contrast,

Funny, countries still want to buy M1 Abrams (made in Lima). Especially after the invasion of Ukraine. It's not make work, it's keeping a production facility viable.

They actually were awarded a contract in 2022 for point to point travel for the USAF. A logical extension of that would be city to city. https://spacewatch.global/2022/01/spacex-wins-102-million-ai...

Ah, missed the edit window. Just because someone writes it in Wikipedia doesn't make it accurate. The concept of an air superiority fighter really started with the F-15 Eagle (its contemporary, the F-14 was really a fleet defender desi

F-35 was spawned from the JAST initiative coming out of the Pentagon's Bottom up review. It was designed to replace the F-16, A-10, Harrier, as well as the F/A-18C and D models. It was no more an air superiority fighter than the F

Not sure where you're getting your figures, but the B2 has been out of production for decades, and the cost for the F-35 is below a new build F-16.

The F-35 was never billed as an air superiority fighter. The basic idea was a stealth version of the F-16. It was always designed in mind with the F-22 performing the Hi in the Hi-Lo mix. Your comment is woefully uninformed and misleading.

How do you explain the success of American Giant? They use US grown cotton, make all their clothes in the US. Granted, you're not going to be able to buy a $5 t-shirt from them, but a $40 t-shirt that doesn't rely on crappy labor

There are some companies that make textiles in the US. American Giant makes hoodies and sweatshirts that are MIUSA, and their quality is excellent. Flint and Tinder makes shirts, coats, hoodies/sweatshirts MIUSA and their 10-year pullo

Kennan's comment is strongly linked to the outcome of WW2. The US was the beneficiary of the war in sheer economic terms. Europe was either destroyed or bankrupt. China was devastated by it's war that predated WW2 with Japan, and

Rattlesnakes are rarely deadly unless you get bit in a vulnerable part and can't get medical attention. About 10-15 people die a year from rattlesnakes. Bears kill about 50 people a year, cougars rarely kill anyone (something like 27 i

Russia has lost approximately 80 aircraft. They just lost an Su-25 today in Donetsk. If Russian ISR was so excellent, they'd be able to target the launchers and other components.
