I feel like your point is tangential to this. We don't think parental education wholly stops underage drinking or smoking, hence we have laws against it.

They're not stopping anyone from physically talking to you(what's important). They're stopping you/others from sending DM's/Tags/Meme's(what isn't important).

Anecdotally, all the parents I know and have discussed this with are desperate for this to work. How it should work I'm unsure in the big scheme of it, but we limit access to various things until age 18 here in Australia, and I think t

Dapper in .NET is f*cking fantastic. I've not found a better library/pattern for SQL data access.

When you say these days, I’d argue since mid/late 2000’s for internet with a cable vs. radio waves. Radio waves caught up in developed countries with 4G roll outs in my opinion(is that mid 2010’s?). Large client side JS has been garbag

I’m not sure what your original point is pointing out . Some data doesn’t convert is what I’m pointing out regardless of Postgres or SQLite.

How do you migrate in place data that doesn’t convert between types while maintaining a strict condition like NOT NULL? This is again a scenario I’ve never run into 20ish years of SQL.

I’ve never once had to change a column definition. Sure in theory that option is available. Better option is to just add a new column with the correct definition then copy over existing data in the old column. I don’t think that’s really a

I’ve heard the same. They keep on chugging along despite all the doom mongers. I think most people throwing shade are doing so of jealousy rather than well thought arguement.

I’d wager for the majority of human population, present & past, that the opposite is largely true. Most people are not well off and anecdotally I also don’t know many happily married couples nor happily married parents.

One of the most foundational insights I’ve ever had in IT is clients don’t know what they want until you shove it in their face. And only then do they say no, no, no, change this, this and that. Same story as building a house. There’s so ma
