If I remember correctly, one of the developers of GNU Emacs removed Mac-specific functionality as GNU doesn't want these type of patches in the software that they release as it goes against their core ethos.

Seems like Microsoft are up to their usual tricks. * Forcing their default apps onto you regardless of your specified defaults; Edge is now the default browser ... again! * Cortana is back on, even if you turned it off. * Full telemetry is

Consumer protection law is very strong in Australia & New Zealand. I'm glad to see government taking a tough stance towards what amounts to corporations weaseling out of doing their fair part.

London used to be the banking capital of the entire EU. Everyone is now considering other EU capital cities. We'll be seeing huge effects for years, if not decades, to come.

The entire Brexit fiasco is a colossal balls up, and I genuinely hope that they can secede from the UK and re-join the EU. It's even more telling when the politician who spearheaded this ill-fated campaign is wanting to immigrate from

I self-host an instance of Nextcloud and sync my KeePass DB between devices with their desktop/mobile syncing applications. You could do the same with Dropbox/Google Drive/et al. It's pretty effortless.

No investor in their right mind will accept this deal. It's a foregone conclusion that Theranos is going under at some stage soon. As you said, the shares are worth jack shit.

Quick question regarding this security pop-up. I don't have much experience with the security side of things apart from HTTPS certs/etc, but isn't Dell's NZ website a bit iffy? i.e. dell.com/nz/ -> 'My

Here's a better idea - show Microsoft that you don't accept this type of behaviour by switching products/services. I'm aware that Windows 10 is a "free" OS, but trying to ram this type of behaviour down my thro

Nintendo isn't the only one. The PS Vita (and PS4, but I may be wrong) were also hacked by a chain of exploits that started with, you guessed it, simple WebKit exploits.

This is a very good move, and I'm glad that the Code of Conduct was updated to be more sane. As a consequence, I'm now more willing to contribute bug reports/pull requests to the Go project.
