Funny you mention that. I, a Linux user, was deciding between the 13" Air and this Zenbook Prime, and chose the former, because the Zenbook reportedly has lots of issues and annoyances: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AsusZenbookPrime I

Yeah, this looks pretty neglected by Google. Interesting comparison. I couldn't help noticing that the GMaps link loads instantly while this (much more useful) OSM link took nearly 20 seconds to fully load.

For those who didn't shell out for App.net, you can also syndicate to Twitter from the completely open rstat.us, which also (for now) allows you to sign in with your Twitter account, so it takes five seconds to set up. https://rstat.us No

Suggestion for anyone pissed off (at Twitter) by this: Check out https://rstat.us/ . It's a completely open microblogging platform, and at least for now, you can log in using your Twitter account (via OAuth) and cross-post all your Rstat.

The GPL has a clause saying that if its terms are violated, all rights granted to the violator by the GPL are terminated. So if Twin Peaks did indeed copy Red Hat's mount code as alleged, they would never be allowed to distribute that code

Collision rate isn't what we want to minimize; fatality rate is. And the odds of pedestrian death in a collision are about 5% at 20mph, 45% at 30mph, and 85% at 40mph. Source: http://humantransport.org/sidewalks/SpeedKills.htm As a side n

Where do you live? In the two major US cities where I've lived, I consistently find that wireless networks are passworded, don't work, or just show a paywall. In 2005 I could find random apartment-dwellers with open wifi, but things have ch

Wow, this could hardly be more different from how I type. I use only my middle and index fingers for all letters, moving them around as needed. I use left middle on 't' unless the next or previous letter is 'q', 'w', 'e', 'a' or 's', in whi

When you write "whatever sound system they're using this week", I know what you mean. There's terrible fragmentation, and buggy libraries get rewritten and replaced by some other buggy thing instead of fixed. That's definitely a pattern. Fr
